Hi all,
You can read all on the new PTS server here:

Here is how you set it up:
__________
Getting Started with the Public Test Server
The public test server (PTS) is accessed with a separate Aion client. You must install this PTS client, even if Aion is installed on your PC already. There are two ways to go about with this, one which requires much less time and bandwidth. Keep in mind that while these instructions will help you get started, the PTS server will not be available before the 29th of April.
Method 1: Duplication of Already Existing Installation
Browse to the Aion installation directory on your local hard drive.
Copy the folder and paste it into the same location (for example, "C:/Program Files/NCsoft/").
Rename the new folder to AionPTS. The name must be changed to exactly "AionPTS" for the copy to work.
Boot up the NCsoft launcher. The NCsoft launcher should detect the newly created folder as the PTS client and list it in the left pane of the launcher.
Patch (if needed), and launch the game!
Log in using the same username and password that you do as on the normal servers. Enjoy!
Method 2: Fresh Installation
Download the 9.8 GB Aion PTS client installer from one of the following locations:
GamersHell
FilePlanet
Launch the installer and follow the installation instructions. A new game title, "AionPTS," will appear in your NCsoft launcher.
Patch (if needed), and launch the game!
Log in using the same username and password that you do as on the normal servers. Enjoy!

Good luck and I hope to see you there :)
Ker
had some time to try this and noticed one thing.
the folder copy shouldnt be on same folder where the game is, or it wont work.
it has to be in the launcher instalation folder and not game instalation, unless you have the game on that folder also.
me for one, dont have the game in the same folder (not even in same disk) as the launcher, and had a litle fight to understand why it wasnt work, untill i tested on the laucher folder and worked.
now i am waiting for it to become live, wich should be 3 hours from the time this post was created (almost 9:00 SBT - GMT+1) wich means PTS should be live at 12:00 :) lets see how 1.9 version will look hehe :P
Thanks for the tip/troubleshooting uther. Good job!
yw white, but have been trying to loggin on it during the day and still wasnt able to :(
everytime i try i get the message ''unable to contact authorization server'' :(
Finally after had a little bit confusion and had to clean the disk from many thing. i am able to do the patch and get the "AionPTS" in the launcher.
I'm logging in and making a new char in test server. ^^ See you soon in the game
From Aiononline.com:
Important: We are currently experiencing an issue where European players cannot create a new character on the PTS if they have 8 characters in total across all other servers already. A solution is in the workings!
Enjoy, and fly safe!

Kind regards,
Ker

The issue with not being able to create a character when you already have a total of 8 characters on other servers was resolved.
Have fun!

Update on PTS about AION 2.0 expansion ''Assault On Balaurea'' posted on official aion website at 9th august 2010
The Public Test Server (PTS) will be taken down for maintenance today, August 9th 2010, to prepare for testing of Assault on Balaurea, the free upcoming Aion expansion often referred to as Aion 2.0.
The PTS database will be reset completely as a part of this, and all PTS characters and Legions will be removed. Keep in mind that the progression rates on the PTS have received a significant boost compared to the rates of our regular servers.
The PTS will reopen its majestic gates on August 18th 2010, with the new expansion ready for some testing action. Aion: Assault on Balaruea will be available across all servers September 7th 2010.
For instructions on how to access the PTS, please head on over to the Public Test Server PowerWiki page or the Public Test Server forum. Don't miss the opportunity to help us test this major content addition before it hits the live servers!

in other words, we will have to make new chars to test 2.0, shame since mine was being played to get high lvl and be ready for the new zones and lvl cap lol
I guess that explains why new zones and high level areas often contain so many bugs, they're just barely tested >:(
I'm curious about the 2.0 expansion, and how much of the well known Aion Visions trailer will be in it!
still is about 3 weeks to test it. better than nothing ^^
vision trailer, is aparently what some call of the 3.0 version. So i would expect it in mid 2011.
correct white. aion vision trailer is considered version 3.0, but i honestly dont think all of what is seen on the video will be for 3.0, maybe all those things are for above versions.
for 3.0, i think its the housing sistem and the mounts that will show up, maybe also new maps (the underwater map i hope). the rest will come in other update, version 4.0 probably.
Well all of the trailer was said to be for future updates. Some of it in 2.0, some of it in 3.0, and some of it in smaller updates between.
I think 3.0 won't be here till mid or late 2011, and since the trailer contains a lot of in-game footage I expect most of it should be ready by then.
think major updates/expansions might come with 1 year intervals. as we can see, 2.0 will come out by the time aion is making 1 year. i supose 3.0 will come also when its aion "birthday".
