- From now on maximum image size is 950 pixels for both width and height.
Any image bigger than that will be automatically reduced (not on bytes size, only on it's forum display size)
New member registration settings:
- Configured settings so that now, when creating a forum account, the person needs to insert a valid email in order to receive and follow an account activation link sent by email.
This is a temporary change, hopefully will help fight some recent spam, until I am able to create extra posting rules for "forum lurkers" and increase the difficulty of anti-bot security code.
Forum membership symbols:
- Created aion rank images to replace the normal "stars".
This was me processing and applying a idea/suggestion given by Utherverse. Took me some time and work, but i think it stayed very nice. Enjoy.

RoyalStorm Radio back up after a long absense. this is happening due the stream being also used on Utherverse 3D virtual comunity on my virtual club.
Will atempt as much i can to keep stream playing 24/7, but i dont own server and server maintenances/logouts might happen without previous warnings.
Same as before, you can request musics on the apropriate forum post and i will do my best to play them.
However, since the stream is being used for my club on Utherverse 3D, there is a high chance that, without previous warning, a live show might be happening, with me on the music controls allways.

- Created 2 new categories (General, Rift)

Memberships:
- Renamed the memberships, moved the people accordingly and deleted the unneeded memberships.

This helps to keep the main index from becoming too big (less scrolling), the logic behind this is to keep "redundant" sections (that normally are not very big) centralized and shared between the divisions (if it becomes to big, subdivisions of the boards will be created). This logic does not apply to the "Tips and Tools" section of each division, as this board normally is big and results into multiple subsections. Therefore each forum division will still have its own "Tips and Tools" board.
- Created the board "Hardware, Software and Support" on the general division
- Moved the subboard "Game Performance & Tools" from Aion division "Tips & tools" to the new "Hardware, Software and Support" board.
- Moved some topics based on the new set of boards.
- Removed some topics that were outdated as they no longer apply to our teamspeak server version.

The main purpose for the shoutbox was to be a quick way of contact, especially for guests. Since the 3 different solutions that we tried all had problems of their own, it was removed from the forum. Being on a separate page removes the visibility almost entirely, hence making it pointless and misleading for those who were still using it.
We searched for alternatives, but with the functionalities that we want and without ads or other annoyances, are not available for free, and since it is not fundamental, it will stay like this until we update the forum software.
Forum Header and Footer:
- Replaced the technology used on our time zone clocks, from Flash to the HTML5.

Hey guys!
I am moving RS site/forum to a new server (with cool new features) so expect some downtime till DNS servers do their job. I just hope I wont mess with databases ;D
Tried to reach Whitehorse but he seems too occupied with painting his new house :D
So, keep fingers crossed and wish me luck. I do not expect much downtime but due to RL issues it may take me more than few hours.
After some time and heroic efforts from Whitehorse and me I think we successfully moved all the files, databases and our domains to new host.
White is without proper internet still but I believe he will take advantage of new host and many addons we have at our disposal now and will make our site even better.
Sorry for longish downtime but it was neccessary to make sure all DNS kicked in properly and everything is OK.
Also I must offer some apologies as due to me making many, many backups and working from 3 different locations (computers) I might have uploaded forum database a bit older than I should. I believe that only 1 or 2 latest posts were missing.

- Detected and fixed a problem that prevented users from uploading new avatars. The problem was caused a bit ago when we changed file host. The old avatars were not affected by this problem.

Thanks for the suggestions, but we already have the means to do that. We implemented that for the tutor title (you can see it next to White's avatar). When i said that we were studying a way to implement it was the procedure/guidelines to give that title.

- At the request of Sjadelin, the S7 Project board is now visible to all members of RoyalStorm.

- Detected a bug with the "Last post" listed for a board in the main index. It will not display the correct last post, if the last post was done inside a child board of a child board.

- Created extra Group channels for the MMORPG division. (increased to 8 sub channels).

Outage:
- The network connection to one of our RoyalStorm servers seems to be down. It appears to be a router problem. We are unable to remotely resolve the problem, so it will take hours before we have physical access.
- Affected services: Minecraft Terra Nova, Minecraft Testlab, Teamspeak backup server, Terraria, Don't Starve Together.
Outage resolved:
- The problem was indeed a router crash. It has been restarted and seems stable.
- The previously affected services are now reachable again.

Forum boards:
- Renamed some staff boards.
- Moved all the Division Staff boards into a central category.
- Division Staff boards, now are only visible to the corresponding Lv.Y membergroups.
- Created Division Staff child boards, only visible to the corresponding Lv.Z membergroups.
Teamspeak memberships:
- Emptied and currently repopulating "Leader" and "Deputy" memberships.
- Created and currently populating "Supervisor" membership.
Because of a SMF limitation the Division Staff game specific child boards were not visible to the Deputies.
This is now resolved.
Forum boards:
- "Division Staff" child boards (that are game specific) were moved to their own group of boards "Game Staff", accessible only to the respective Leaders and Deputies.
RoyalStorm server outage:
- One of our servers is currently unreachable (since 03h00 CET). The problem seems to be with the power supply of the router providing external connection, to which I hope it will be replaced today or tomorrow.
Until then, the affected services are: Minecraft server, Don't Starve server, Terraria server, RS network monitor, Teamspeak backup server.

On a more serious note, you should get an ups. Most of of the problems with electronic devices and dc adapters are caused by power spikes/outages. Don't need to get anything fancy with more than 1KVA to last for hours, just as long as it is from a decent brand and provides 10/15m of bat power is good enough.
Website/Forum resources related with Twitch:
- Due to Twitch changing their API, all our resources related with it stopped working.
- We already did manual changes that made our resources work again to their main functionality, but some small issues still need to be fixed.
RoyalStorm server maintenance:
- One of our servers will receive maintenance tonight (25-Oct) and will have to be restarted, affected services will be Minecraft/Terraria/TS-Backup. Keep an eye on our shoutbox for real time updates.
Minecraft servers:
- Stopped all Minecraft servers to save CPU/RAM resources.

- HTTPS fully implemented and forced.
HTTPS mode had been silently implemented and under beta testing some months ago, but as of today is being forced and no longer optional.
Any HTTP attempts will be redirected to the secured/encrypted mode.
This is a security feature that had been requested to us for a long time. Glad that we were able to implement it. 8)
Forum:
- Added a Profile field: "Headset / Microphone"
That way being able to give that detail about your gaming system.
Forum / Website:
- We are aware of the loading problem of the Teamspeak viewer. The root cause is known, but will take maybe a few days to fix.

- Created new URLs, that do redirects.

Thus easier to memorize the URLs and find multiple things RoyalStorm related.
Forum boards:
- "Requests to/from Administrators" Board is temporarily* available to all members.
*This might be closed again, when having enough activity that needs dedicated Supervisors, Leaders and Deputies.
Voice solution:
- Our official voice solution is now Discord. The server invitation URLs are https://discord.gg/3Z33bER (for Discord client) or http://royalstorm.eu/voice (for web browsers).
If it is your first time connecting to the server we will have to update your membership inside of it, so you can change channels on your own (Send a direct message to one of the administrators).
The reason for the change is that Teamspeak3 is outdated (2011) and Teamspeak5 has failed to be released as announced (2018).
Discord has been chosen as it was referenced by several RoyalStormers, we completed a 1 month test trial and despite some short comings we decide to keep Discord.
As for our TeamSpeak servers, the main server will be turned off and the backup server will be kept (to use if Discord service fails).
Our website will be updated in the coming days to reflect the change to Discord.

- Corrected all the broken links that were still referring to the https* urls.
- Cleaned up the footer clocks and added Australia.
- Removed the Teamspeak server preview on the top right corner.
Website menu:
- Corrected the broken display, that was still partially depending on the https*.
- Replaced the option and page referring to Teamspeak as a voice solution. Now it properly displays our Discord server.
Discord:
- Created extra roles and channels to deal with the Space Engineers public server now associated with RoyalStorm.
- Discord server converted into Community server.
* In the near future we will use again https on our forum/website, but that takes longer to implement than quickly fixing the temporary errors.

- Upgraded from SMF version 2.0.15 to version 2.0.16
- Upgraded from SMF version 2.0.16 to version 2.0.17 (latest version, since Dec 2019)

- RS Members (and above) now able to add / remove people from the "Friends" role. (via bot command)
