On Friday, December 10 we will begin a month-long trial of changes to the current rifting settings that take into account your feedback. After the month is over, we will send out another in-game survey to gauge your thoughts on the changes to determine if we need to do any final tweaking of these settings.
During this one-month trial:
· The protection for defenders in Morheim and Eltnen will remain, but the strength of the protection will be significantly reduced. The intent of this change is to provide protection to lower-level players, but also allow for challenging rifting battles in Morheim and Eltnen.
· The protection for defenders in Heiron and Beluslan will be removed entirely. This change allows higher-level players to engage in full-scale rifting and to complete spy quests, such as the Betoni's quest line.

I did not like it one bit to be ganked by people way above my level that on top of that would wait till you were engaged with a monster before killing you. Many times it would be more than one person too, prolly out of sheer courage and audacity. If it would have been an occasional thing I would not have minded so much, but it tended to happen every friggin' time I played typically within one hour of play. This kind of killing in my view has nothing to do with pvp as there is no challenge at all involved.
As luck will have it my account was renewed for a year on 2nd December (not).
For those that are happy with the new changes enjoy the game though :)

I liked Abyss pvp a lot more, since there were many people of both sides, fighting for an artifact or fortress or nothing at all :D
I don't mind rifting, as long as we at least have a couple hours a day to breathe and move around Heiron undisturbed for quests, or material gathering for craft... something you usually don't bring a full group for.
Meh, there won't be many asmos right now. Most of the asmos that used to rift all day lvd up to 55 because of the rift nerf. If rifting would be back forever, it would've taken a month or 2 to get close to noticing the full-scale rifting as we used to have. No need to worry about rifters now. There will only be a few of them around now

Imho they should make something to motivate the people to fight people their own level, or higher. Seen it before in a game and it worked pretty well there. Attacking lower levels gave a penalty (dishonor) unless it was self defense (within a certain time spawn after the other attacked first).

yea, my ranger's all up for beluslan
yup rift is back white, and my last days on aion i really didnt see ''few'' asmo activity, last day i been on there were quite alot asmos coming from kyola rift.
true that many are on balaurea now, but there are also new players due the expansion and some that allready reached lvl 55 are creating new chars.
same day i saw that rift with asmos, i lvled up another alt for warehouse and in poeta there were at least 10 low lvl chars, so its possible that rifting in eltnen and heiron keep active for a while still.
