Server Merge

I'm kinda curious, how did things go now after the server merge? How's the Asmo-Elyos balance now? How's the activity? How are the losses?

Seeing the database I lost the names of most my characters. And hearing a friend on Msn who still plays, it's not a great success. Okay he plays on a different server. But it's clear how they just looked at the population Asmo-Ely numbers, rather than the actual ACTIVE population that still plays. My friend came from a server where Elyos was clearly stronger, now he plays on a merged server where you can't go out in ANY map anymore without being ganked, not to mention in the first week Asmodians took ALL Abyss fortresses, including Divine.

Seeing all this the chances of coming back are getting really slim. But how did things end up on Gorgos-Spatalos?

It's just WAY unbalanced if i check the lfg chat from time to time. But the merges weren't the cause. It's the server transfer. Lots of asmos seem to be wimping out of new spatalos and dredg groups take ages to start. That might give an ide of how asmos are being balanced now

Teaser

all names were changed ashelia, adding GR at the end of it (in case of old gorgos players) and a free name change ticket was given to restore the name. in case the name is in conflict with spatalos chars, ncsoft has some rules about who has right over the name.
as for unbalanced server, im with the opinion of knuckels. it wasnt the merge that made it unbalanced, but rather the exode of players using the server transfer in mass.
ppl should stay a bit longuer to see how the merge would be, before asking for transfer in the 1st time they had a chance to.
at this moment, elyos in spatalos are dominating upper abyss and core, lower abyss is asmo, and i dont say its unbalanced, since i was present in one of the lower abyss sieges this week and i can say that elyos were outnumbered in that siege. if asmos dont get more forts, its cause they getting lazy imo, probably waiting for another server transfer.
ncsoft noticed this mass transfer and put server transfers on hold for now, and trying to find a solution to make server more even.
my sugestion for them is: check who tansfered and transfer only the ones that have race conflict, keeping the 1st char transfered where it is now, and make the others get back to the server they were previously lol :P

I can in a nutshell say that i share what knuckles and Utherverse said.
It´s asmos that need to organize better and not wimp out of the server.
I even saw my asmo friend that had elyos and asmo on our server he looged on our side to spy the elyos chat and he could compare that elyos were much more organized. He commented this to me. His main is asmodian, and he is frustrated with the lack of organization on his race side. (lots of kids)

Ashelia

Well like I said, the story I posted from my friend was on a different server ;)

I guess if Elyos is far better organized on Spatalos now, that'll result in quite the opposite, rather than a good balance. Before Aion I played games that had war instances per level range, allowing people up to a difference in amount of no more than 10 people. That resulted in good balanced and very fun and exciting wars. Something like that I always missed in Aion. It was always about 1 side ganking the other.

Lots of asmos seem to be wimping out of new spatalos and dredg groups take ages to start.

Everytime I have to wait 40-120 minutes to enter Dred.

And for Asmos and their disorganization - I think, the situation is pretty bad back there. For exemple, on yesterday sieges they had a quite good zerg, they took Siel pretty fast and then... They went to camp Western Shard teleporters! They could easily take over Roah, as there were max 2 Ely aliances guarding the whole place, but instead Asmos prefered to gank some random Elyos and a bunch of NPCs.
